Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering JOII: Journal of Interdisciplinary Inquiry as a platform for your research. Please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your manuscript:

  1. Manuscript Preparation:
  • Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Use Times New Roman font, size 12, and double-spacing throughout the document.
  • Include a title page with the manuscript title, author(s)’ name(s), affiliation(s), email address(es), and corresponding author information.
  • Ensure that the manuscript adheres to the journal’s formatting and style guidelines.
  1. Manuscript Structure:
  • Title: Clear and concise, accurately reflecting the content of the manuscript.
  • Abstract: Provide a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, summarizing the purpose, methodology, results, and conclusions of the study.
  • Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords that accurately describe the content of the manuscript.
  • Introduction: Provide background information, research objectives, and the significance of the study.
  • Methods: Describe the research design, methodology, materials, and procedures used in the study.
  • Results: Present the findings of the study in a clear and organized manner, using tables, figures, and graphs as necessary.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss their implications, and compare them with existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and implications of the study.
  • References: List all references cited in the manuscript following APA or MLA style guidelines.
  1. Submission Process:
  • Manuscripts should be submitted online through the journal’s submission system.
  • Ensure that all co-authors have approved the manuscript for submission.
  • Include a cover letter briefly introducing the manuscript and confirming its originality and compliance with ethical guidelines.

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review by experts in the field.
  • Authors can expect timely feedback on the status of their submission and any required revisions.

  • Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards and guidelines.

Review Process:

At the Journal of Interdisciplinary Inquiry (JOII), we uphold a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research. Our review process follows these key steps:

  • Initial Submission: Upon receiving a manuscript, our editorial team conducts an initial assessment to ensure that the submission meets the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines.
  • Peer Review: Submissions that pass the initial screening are assigned to expert reviewers in the relevant fields for thorough evaluation. Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the authors, addressing strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript. This feedback helps authors improve the quality and clarity of their work.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers’ feedback and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes an editorial decision regarding the manuscript. Possible decisions include acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  • Revision and Resubmission: If revisions are required, authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript in accordance with the reviewers’ feedback. Revised manuscripts undergo further evaluation to ensure that the concerns raised during the initial review process have been adequately addressed.
  • Final Decision: Upon completion of revisions, the manuscript may be accepted for publication, returned for further revisions, or rejected based on the Editor-in-Chief’s assessment and the reviewers’ recommendations.
  • Publication: Accepted manuscripts are copyedited and prepared for publication. Once finalized, they are published in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Inquiry (JOII) and made available to the academic community.
